Albert Rene Gomez passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Home. Albert was born March 6, 1985 in San Antonio, TX. He always had a heart for community service & being a protector of/for those who could not protect themselves. Thus, his career in law-enforcement began in 2012 with the White Settlement Police Department and continued until his untimely death. Albert loved his job as a Texas peace officer, making the rank of Corporal in 2019. Albert was a SWAT Operator, a Field Training Officer, on the Negotiations team and a mentor to all. His father was a retired San Antonio Firefighter Lieutenant and later a Sergeant with the Sheriffs Office in Bexar County, TX. Albert was so proud of his dad being the youngest Lieutenant for the Fire Department in their history, at the time. In 2016, Albert was lucky enough to meet the love of his life, Kristina T. Warren. It didn't take long for him to realize the two were meant to be. As soon as Albert's friends and family met Kristina, it was obvious to them as well. Albert proposed at the best place he knew possible, and where was that? The Dallas Cowboys football stadium! Lucky for him Kristina said yes and the rest was history. Our two lovable, gregarious, geeks came together and made life and community better for the rest of us. Albert was a giant of a man, strong as an ox, but had no qualms showing his love of family, friends and community. He was a lovable bear and just as protective of his family and friends. Albert absolutely loved Christmas & the holidays. This time of year meant warm fond memories and introducing his daughter to family traditions. Some of Albert's hobbies included watching and quoting movies, cologne collecting, gaming, fishing, and he was a connoisseur of comedians/pop-culture. Albert loved life! He loved the ups and downs. He loved looking forward to family traditions and making new memories with his wife, daughter, family & friends. Albert thoroughly enjoyed football, as he was an avid and voracious player in High School. Albert was a die-hard Cowboys fan and everyone knew it! Football season meant Christmas was near, so the two went hand-in-hand for Albert. Some of Albert's all-time favorite films include Tombstone (Doc Holliday), Goodfellas, superheroes like Captain America, Deadpool, The Punisher and Batman. Albert was the go-to guy for movie/pop-culture trivia & knowledge. Albert's father was a Scorpio. This being the case, Albert had a love for scorpions and the Scorpio astrological sign. Lo and behold, Kristina & Albert's daughter, Arianny, born in 2017, was destined unto this same Scorpio lineage. Albert's father always had a chain on his neck with a scorpion, and so did he. Kristina purchased this special necklace for Albert on Father's Day which he wore next to his Saint Michael pendant. Albert loved his daughter so much, and in such a way that it is difficult to describe in words. Everyone knew there was no doubt that Albert's world revolved around his wife and child, they were his absolute passion (no hyperbole); this love, of course, included God as well. Kristina and Arianny were the lights of his life. Albert would always bring Kristina little gifts, surprises, flowers; just because. Albert always wanted his family to know that they were number one in his mind and heart. All of Albert's friends, family and coworkers knew this as well. When Kristina wanted a garden, he got right to it and built her a garden. When Kristina told Albert that she wanted her Masters degree, that was it, he began working extra off-duty to pay for it. It's no secret to those that knew him that Albert was often late to events. Kristina and Albert would often joke that he would be late, even to his own funeral. Albert was preceded in death by his father, Albert; and brothers, Eric and Jeff. Survivors: Wife, Kristina; daughter, Arianny Rene; mother, Gwen and her husband, Bob; brothers, Jason, Marc and Trey; sister, Alexis; and last but certainly not least his Brothers in Blue, Brad Bukowski and John Banner .
