Obituary

Avis Carver passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Graveside: 4 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 in Perrin Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 1 p.m. prior to services. Avis was born August 13, 1949, in Salinas, California to the late Todd and Oleta Carver. She was the youngest of six children and enjoyed spending time with her family often helping organize family reunions. She received her undergraduate and master's degree in Gerontology at the University of North Texas. She was the ultimate caregiver living her life to take care of others including her mother and brother. Her only grandson brought much joy to her life. Avis worked for many years in business management and was currently working at Zeit Energy in accounting for her nephew. She was a woman of strong faith and a longtime member of First Baptist Church Lakeside. Avis was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: Son, Tony Carver and wife, Lori; grandson, Joshua Carver; siblings, Opal Beauchamp, and husband, Jerry, Hollis Carver and wife, Melanie, Kenneth Carver and wife, Carolyn, Ronald Carver and wife, Mary, and Norman Carver; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
