Barbara Lou Kuykendall Hopkins gained her Angel Wings on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Service: 3 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Visitation: Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Biggers Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the SPCA or your local animal shelter which would mean so much to her.

Born on February 25, 1946, in Carnegie, Oklahoma, to Bruce and Fannie Kuykendall, she was the youngest of six children.

Barbara loved her girls fiercely and had many friends she considered family. She enjoyed traveling, rodeos, Las Vegas, listening to Elvis and Neal McCoy, her puppy dogs, beautiful flowers, cooking, and spending time with her cherished family and friends.

She retired from the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller with 28 years of public service.

She was the epitome of hard work, honesty, loyalty, generosity, and you were always welcome in her home.

While we are grieving here on Earth, she is rejoicing in Heaven reunited with her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ralph, Charles, Betty, Kenneth and Carroll; and her husband, Dwayne Hopkins.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Shockey (Scott), and Christi Smith (Bryan Dorsey); granddaughter, Hattie; bonus-daughter, Dawn Whiting, and bonus-granddaughters, Kyli (Kolter), and Kambri; bonus-grandson, Decker; two stepdaughters, Tammey Carpenter (Steve), and Pam Brown (Leroy); six step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
