Obituary

Barbara Pizzi, age 81, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed upon this earth on July 2, 2023.

Memorial Service: 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 29, 2023, Biggers Funeral Chapel, 6100 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth, Texas

She was born in Doniphan, Missouri on August 28, 1941 to William Kelley and Ethel (Hodo) Kelley. She lived most of her childhood in Saginaw, Michigan and graduated from High School in Scottsdale, AZ. She enrolled in the Air Force and located to Lowry AFB in Denver, CO where she met her husband, Mauro Pizzi. They married on July 9, 1960 and they were married for 51 years. She had 2 sons, Joseph (1962) and Paul (1963). She lived in many military bases in US cities and in Puerto Rico and England. For their last AFB, they returned to Lowry AFB (Denver) to retire, the place they fell in love. She retired from DFAS as an accountant. After her husband's death, she moved to Decatur, TX to be closer to her boys and their families. She loved to do Bunka Embroidery and made several beautiful pieces over the years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband: Mauro Pizzi.

She is survived by Joseph Pizzi and wife, Tracy; grandchildren Jared Russum, Evan Russum, and Ethan Pizzi; great-grandchildren Keagen Russum and Aaron Russum; Paul Pizzi and granddaughter Katarina Pizzi; nieces Belinda Hale and her husband, Kent and Debra Roberts and her husband, Terry.

Preceded in death are her parents and her sisters Betty Conn and Mae Kelley.
