Barbara Jean Donahoo Raines went to her heavenly home on Friday morning, January 2, 2026, at the age of 92.

Private Family Interment will take place at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

She was born on the cold wet Sunday afternoon of November 5, 1933, to Henry Curtis Donahoo and Erma Mott Donahoo at their home on Third Avenue in Columbus, Georgia. She was the eldest of seven children. Her siblings are Frances, Charles (deceased), Sue, Mary Jane (deceased), Patsy, and Mark. She was a life-long member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

She met the love of her life, Chadwick "Earl" Raines, Jr., when he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. They married on July 3, 1953. During his career in the Army they lived in several states and overseas twice. She worked at Harris Methodist Hospital in downtown Fort Worth for over 27 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, photography, researching genealogy, and learning about her ancestors.

Her legacy includes four children, David, Ramona, Paul (deceased), and Timothy, as well as ten grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her children, David, Ramona and Timothy; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Frances, Sue, Patsy and Mark.

Many of her loved ones preceded her in death, including her parents; husband, Earl; son, Paul; grandson, Tony; great-grandson, Allen; brother, Charles and sister, Mary Jane.
