Benny Joe Derr, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at his home in Newark. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 21, in Oakwood Cemetery on South 5th St. in Waco. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Benny is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Derr; children, Kathy Derr of Arlington, Kevin Derr of Celina and Kyle Derr of Spring Branch; grandchildren, Heather Newton, Brittany Derr, Jaxson Derr, Emma Derr and great-grandchild, Amber Newton.
