Betty Jean (Wilson) Boyd a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away in her sleep on November 26, 2023 at the age of 92 at her home in Springtown, Texas.

Betty was born in Mansfield, Texas to Elmer Claude and Annie Lorene Wilson.  She was married to Homer Ebb Boyd from Mansfield, Texas in 1949 and they were blessed with five children: Patricia L. Boyd, Homer E. Boyd, Jr., Linda L. Vogelgesang, William C. Boyd, and Darla J. Hardy.

Betty attended and graduated from Mansfield High School, "Class of 1947".  She was primarily a homemaker and worked to assist friends in their businesses and organizations over the years.  She was known for her community activities with charities and working with and teaching ceramics and other crafts.  She won several awards for her unique creations.  Betty was active with the Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts, was active as a church elders' wife and member of Hilltop Family Church in Springtown, Texas.

Betty was very active with Homer Ebb in the Masonic Organizations.  Betty was a 50-year member of The Order of Eastern Star.  She started in Mansfield Chapter # 876, Valley Park Chapter # 505 and reached the level of Worthy Matron in 1976, Springtown Chapter # 498 and was Worthy Matron in 1985 and 1989.  She was also Past Mother Advisor for the Meramec Valley Assembly of Rainbow Girls in Valley Park, Missouri from 1973 – 1975 and was also the Grand Representative to Missouri.

Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, Homer Ebb; grandson, Carl Edward Boyd; brothers, Edward Wilson and Paul Wilson.

Betty is survived by her five children and their families: Patricia L. Boyd of Saginaw, Texas; Homer E. Boyd, Jr. and wife, Shelley of Aurora, Texas; Linda L. Vogelgesang and husband, Jim of Joshua, Texas; William C. Boyd of Springtown, Texas; Darla J. Hardy and husband, Tim of Watauga, Texas; her granddaughter, Rachel R. Christie and husband, Robert of Newark, Texas; and grandson's David Vogelgesang and wife, Tamara of Godley, Texas; Michael Vogelgesang of Keller, Texas; Garrett Boyd of Noble, Oklahoma; Wm. Chase Boyd and wife, Angel of Norman. Oklahoma; Randal Grizzle of Watauga, Texas; great-grandchildren Adelia, Briar, Anson Vogelgesang, Robert (RJ) Christie; Step grandchildren, Sheila Franklin and Lance Goode, Jim and John Davis, Tyler, Lauren and Ashley Hardy and a host of other step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

Betty lived a long and wonderfully blessed life and will be greatly missed.
