Betty Lee Kraatz Boenisch, 70, of Lake Worth, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, February 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation: 10:00 - 11:00 am, Saturday, March 9, 2024, Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Ave, Lake Worth, Texas 76135.

Service: 11:00 am, Saturday, March 9, 2024, Biggers Funeral Home.

Private Interment: There will be no graveside service. Her body will be laid to rest later for an intimate moment between her children and their Momma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be in the form of potted plants or be made to the American Cancer Society, Autism Foundation or to the charity of your choice.

Betty was born to John and Iva Kraatz on July 8, 1953, in San Angelo, TX. After Betty graduated from Haltom High School in 1971, she studied Pastoral Ministry at Wesley College in Florence, MS.

In 1980, Betty found her true calling of motherhood with Brandi Lea Moore of Keller, Texas, and again in 1982 with Kenneth Ray Boenisch, Jr. (Bud) of Graham, Texas. She retired as a Program Specialist for Tobacco Prevention and Control with the Texas Department of State Health Services in Austin, Texas. She spent her time in Keller and Graham near her newfound favorite hobby of being the most special Gammie - GayGay in the world.

She was Betty Lee to many people, but to her children and grandchildren, she was our light. Gammie, GayGay, or Momma was just a phone call away from whoever needed her. She represented joy, peace, and nothing short of a beautiful example of faith. Never in all our blessed years did we witness a crumble of where her true strength was founded. She loved her Lord, taught each of us his words, and truly represented what the Light and Salt of the world meant. Mom held strong battling cancer since February of 2023 and never once faltered in her love of Jesus. The intimate moments shared with her before her death only set fire to the rest of us and our walks with the Lord. She knew God's word and so dearly loved to pray and quote it each time on our visits.

Her favorite verse of The Good Shepherd is Psalm 23:

The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need. He lets me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters. He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I go through the dark valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff - they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live.

She lived this and believed this, and while she always found a way to teach us through many of life's adventures, she always made time for laughter, cards, baking, friends, and family. She had a significant and bright heart and ensured room for all. She told many stories of her brothers, Danny and Eddie, and made sure to include that she could still put them both in a headlock and was the boss. Her family time spent playing cards, visiting her uncle's farm, and sitting around a table of dominoes was always well-spent. Those times were her happy places. She never lacked having sisters, whether they came by marriage, found in College, or her profession; she had a deep love and respect for the sisters God placed in her life. Mom could sing, play the piano, bake, and cook with the best of them, but her calling as a grandmother was her passion. Mom even told us that life would have been close to perfect if grandkids could have come first. She loved them, and each will forever be carried with their bonds to her. She knew their hearts and how her prayers for them would continue even after she was gone.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Iva Kraatz. She is survived by her daughter, Brandi Moore, her husband Milo, their children, Olik, Charlotte, Veronica and her husband Tyler; Bud Boenisch, his wife Tessa, and their children, Bowen & Toby. Her Siblings: Danny & Jill Kraatz, Eddie & Donna Kraatz; Nieces & Nephews: Danny Ray & Robin Kraatz, Cody & Mishay Kraatz, Nate Kraatz; and many beautiful and much-loved great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Some of Mom's final words to us were simple, "Love each other, join together, and be a good family." We will do our best. Thank you, Momma. We will see you soon. We love you.
