A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Betty Lorraine Oswald Teafatiller passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the age of 92.

Visitation: Family will receive friends Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Biggers Funeral Home.

Memorial Service: 10:00 am, Friday, August 29, 2025 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Interment: Friday, August 29, 2025, 1:00 pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery,

2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.

A child of the Depression Era, Betty was the eldest daughter of nine (9) children born to Walter Oswald and Ethelbert Schoenberger in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her beloved father passed away in 1943, which caused much hardship for the large family and the mother was forced to send the older children to live with relatives. Betty and younger sister, Mary Lou, lived with their maternal grandparents in Lancaster. She graduated from McCaskey High School and she and Mary Lou joined the US Air Force together in 1951.

Her years in the Air Force made an indelible mark on her life. She was very proud of her military service and was a proud American. She displayed the US Flag and other patriotic symbols around her home for over 70-years.

While serving at Carswell Air Force Base, she met and married Harry D. "Pete" Peters. Her first child, a son, HD Jr, was born at Carswell. Her second child, a daughter, Lois Ann, was also born while living in Fort Worth. The young family moved back to the east coast where their family roots were. In 1970, the family returned to White Settlement. Betty and Pete divorced in 1973.

During this time, Betty worked for the US Post Office. She met and married Daniel L.

"Dan" Teafatiller. The couple married on September 14, 1973, and celebrated 48 years together before Dan's passing.

Known for her outgoing personality, Betty held a variety of jobs including bus driver and post office. She loved meeting new people and volunteering with several organizations: White Settlement Senior Center; food banks; and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 8235 to name a few. She attended a special school back in the 1980s and became a certified clown--"Bess the Clown" participating in parades, parties and events. She attended Bethany Christian Church in White Settlement. A "die-hard" fan, she loved watching the Eagles, Orioles and TCU football!

Of all her jobs and activities, the one she loved the most was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Meemaw, as she was affectionately called, loved playing dress-up with her granddaughters.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ethel Oswald; siblings, Walter E Oswald, Rev William Oswald, Mary Louise Holley, Gerald Oswald, Franklin D Oswald, Yvonne Shertzer, Darlene Belcher and Wanda Schmidt; first husband, HD Peters, Sr; second husband, Daniel Teafatiller and one grandson, Michael Peters.

Survivors include son, HD Peters, Jr (Rebecca); daughter, Lois Ann Peters; step-daughter, Tonja Upchurch (John); grandchildren, Stephanie Jones (Jimmy), Becca Stites (Robb), Eric Wilson and step-grandson, Jacob Upchurch; great-grandchildren, Brittany Nelson (Clay), Taylor Jennings (Chris), Elizabeth Rivers (Justin), Aryan Wilson, Emily Wilson and Ella Wilson; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
