Billy "Bill" Lewis Butler from Fort Worth, Texas passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the age of 83. Bill was born in Bagley, Alabama on November 15, 1942.

Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Biggers Funeral Home, Lake Worth, Texas 76135.

Bill was raised by his late loving and caring parents Claud and Venora Butler.

As a young man, Bill spent three years in the Army as an auto repair man and was a sharpshooter on the M-14 rifle. After serving his country in the Army, Bill went on to become a police officer for several years. Following his time as a police officer, he went on to work and retire from the railroad association where he was an inspector.

Bill was a very quiet, caring and loving man. He was very active in the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War communities. You'd often find him drinking his Jack Daniels whiskey while sitting in his dedicated seat at the American Legion. Bill's second love outside of his family was Alabama Crimson Tide football and he'd be sure to let you know that it was the only football game he cared to watch.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his young son, Billy Edward; sister, Helen Gossett and brother-in-law, Robert; and sister, Claudine Henry and brother-in-law, James.

He is survived by his loving family which includes his wife, Darlene Butler; his son, Philip Butler and wife, Heather, his son, Chris Butler and wife, Stacy; sister, Mattie Glass and life partner, Tommy; grandchildren, Levi, Lucas, Austin and his wife, Skye, and Sarah; nieces and nephews, Anita, Frankie, Leslie, Jeff, Melanie and Jamie; stepdaughters, Donna James and family, Sherry Waggoner and family, and Candis Lewis and family.
