Billie Joe Addington, 77, a retired Baptist minister, passed from this life to his eternal home in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Lake Worth with Dr. James Turner and Larry Shuler officiating. Graveside service to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the building or mission fund at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 6051 Azle Ave., Lake Worth, Texas 76135.
Brother Joe was born in Stilwell, Okla., on May 5, 1935. At 16, he received Jesus Christ as his Savior and spent the rest of his life witnessing and ministering to others about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. He pastored several churches in the metroplex, one in west Texas, and one in Colorado.
The family rejoices in the fact that our loved is now in heaven with a host of family and friends.
Survivors include his children: Sherri Davison and husband Mark, Randy Addington and wife Sheila, and Ricky Addington and wife Cindy; brother, Don Addington and wife Joy; sisters, Ina McDonald and husband Bob and Jackie Sue Wilhite and husband Gene; sister-in law, Linda Wharton Lee and husband Robert; grandchildren, Joshua Addington and wife Bobbie, Matthew Addington and wife Candace, Brandon Addington and fiancee Brittany, Danielle Addington, and Haley Davison; great-grandchildren, Erin Andrews, Eathan Addington, Jackie Addington, Garrett Addington, Ellie Kate Addington, and Audrey Jane Addington; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and church family.
