In loving memory of Billy “Bill” Wayne Cargill, age 93, who passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026.
A Celebration of His Life will be held from Noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 100 Fossil Rock Drive, Azle, Texas, 76020.
Bill was born January 23, 1933, in Somervell County, Texas, to the late Robert and Lola Cargill. He honorably served his country as a radio operator in the United States Army.
Following his military service, Bill dedicated 33 years to Bell Helicopter as a skilled tool and die maker before his retirement.
An adventurer at heart, Bill loved traveling and spent his life sharing fond memories of the places he visited, always wishing to return and explore them once more. He was an avid reader of western novels, a fan of old western movies, and held a lifelong passion for horse racing, which brought him immense joy.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Francis Jo Cargill; his parents; his sister, Cloyce Robertson; and his stepdaughter, Janette Pyrus.
He is survived by his sister, Paula Griffith; his children, Steven Cargill, Martin Cargill and wife, Cheryl, Quintin Cargill and wife, Melinda, and his son, Stanton Cargill; his stepdaughters, Sharon Graham and husband, Joseph, Emily Guin, and Julie Berman and husband, Jaron. He also leaves behind a legacy of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
