Visitation: Noon to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, at Biggers; family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, at Biggers Funeral Home, Lake Worth, Texas, with Pastor Jay Ditty and Dr. Gerry Lewis officiating. Burial: Azleland Cemetery, Azle, Texas Billy Ray "Bill" Goggans, 88, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went to be with his Lord Jesus on Sunday, January 24, 2021, in Azle, Texas. Serving as pallbearers: David Dunnahoo, Tracy Dignum, John Hix, Christopher Dunnahoo, Keith Dunnahoo, Ryan Dignum, Daniel Hix, Wesley Hiser, and Kyle Guest. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Bill was born March 28, 1932, the son of Virgil and Gracie Goggans, in Sheridan, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator in Korea from 1953-1955. He married Emma Lee Harrison on June 24, 1956 and made their home in Fort Worth. Bill was a general contractor and built his house from the ground up in 1957 where he lived until his death. He retired after 23 years from General Dynamics (now Lockheed), where he was employed as a carpenter. He served his neighbors and community faithfully; always ready to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed gardening (keeping his family and neighbors supplied with fresh vegetables), bee keeping, and flounder fishing. He was a longtime member of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church and most recently Silver Creek Baptist Church. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Emma; parents; and brother, Raymond Goggans. Survivors: Daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Dunnahoo and David of Cleburne; Nelline Dignum and Tracy of Fort Worth; LeAnnette Hix and John of Cypress; grandchildren, Lauren Hiser (Wes) of Cleburne; Christopher Dunnahoo (Alyssa) of Fort Worth; Keith Dunnahoo (Emily) of Mildred; Ryan Dignum (Vicky) of Fort Worth; Jessica Guest (Kyle) of Katy; Daniel Hix of Fort Worth; Kaylee Hix of Tempe, AZ; great-grandchildren, Reid Hiser, Cade Hiser, Eli Dunnahoo, Wyatt Harney, Emma Dignum, and Benjamin Guest; brother, Bob Goggans of Fordyce, AR, and numerous nieces and nephews.
