Obituary

Billy "Joshua" Pike, 36, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Azleland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service. Joshua was saved and baptized as a young child at Union Missionary Gospel Church in Springtown, and he reaffirmed this commitment as an adult. Joshua was proud of his work as a machinist. He loved the outdoors, kayaking and fishing, and he loved his video games, but more than anything else, Joshua loved his children, Gage and Payton. Gage and Payton were truly the apple of their fathers eye. Nothing gave Joshua more joy than playing games and spending time with his children. Joshua was a friend to all who knew him. Never was there a more generous nor gentler soul who ever walked this earth. Joshua exemplified the passages in Matthew 5:40-42, "And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you." Joshua never had a lot, but whatever was his he shared ungrudgingly to the last penny. Joshua had a keen wit and a quick sense of humor and he brought joy to all who knew him. Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Kirk Anthony Duff and Billy Claude Pike, and grandmother, Sammie Taylor. He is survived by his children, Gage Ryder and Payton Rain Pike; mother and stepfather, Nancy and Kerry McGovern; father, Billy Weldon Pike; sister, Nancy Leah Pike; grandmother, Nancy Lou Duff; uncle, Jimmy Lenoard Duff; aunt and uncle, Charolette Denise and Art Harfield; and numerous cousins and friends.
