Billy Bill" Royce Tompkins passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018. FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: 2 p.m. in Montague Cemetery, Montague County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home. Bill was born April 17, 1942, in Montague County to the late Royce and Opal Tompkins. He proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1962-1966. Bill enjoyed lending a helping hand to his family and friends as well as always doing for others. In his spare time he loved traveling, cruising, and fishing at his lakehouse. Bill will be remembered for his infectious smile, big hugs, and his kindness and generosity. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Carminati. SURVIVORS: Wife of 41 years, Mary Jane Tompkins; son, Royce Tompkins; daughter, Janie Want and her husband, Tim; grandkids, Kayden Jane, Wesley, and Waylon; brother, Jack Tompkins and his wife, Rose; seven nieces; and two nephews.
