Obituary

Bobbie Sue Blailock Belanger died at home Tuesday, September 29, 2015, surrounded by family. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish, 16250 Old Weatherford Road, Aledo, 76008. Her favorite charity was for American Veterans. So, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Disabled American Veterans in her name. She was born Auguat 28, 1938, in Moran to Nola and Robert Blailock. She was married in 1958 to Charles Belanger, and together, they raised four children. She was a devoted wife and mother that always put her children first. Bobbie loved to work. In her youth she was a soda jerk at the local pharmacy. She also served meals on roller skates as a car hop and was a telephone operator, all in Cisco. Her favorite career started in the 1980s when she went to work for GD/Lockheed Martin, writing tech manuals for F-16s. She loved her job and her co-workers dearly. She retired from there after 21 years in 2005. Getting an education was important to her. After years of night school at Northwood University, Bobbie Sue earned her bachelors degree in business administration in 2003 at the age of 64 (she was tenacious). She was a very talented artist. Bobbie loved playing games, traveling, antique shopping and laughing. She played Po-ke-no every month for 27 years with her girlfriends. She was a devoted servant to God. She attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish in Aledo, where she met many friends and loved to listen to Monsignor Publius Xuereb speak. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother. Bobbie is survived by her favorite daughters, Teri Stark, Beverly Marquart and Sharon Tender; her favorite son was Mike Belanger. She has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
