On Tuesday June 13, 2023, we said our final earthly goodbyes to a Loving Husband and Father, Bobby Ray Hopper (Bob).

Memorial Service for Bob Hopper will be 6:00 p.m.,  Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 at Metropolitan Baptist Church,  6051 Azle Ave; Lake Worth, TX 76135.  The service will be presided by Pastor Patrick Bujak, and assisted by Bro. Wayne Hudson and Bro. Bruce Martin.

Bobby was born in Union, Texas on September 7, 1937 to Eddie B Hopper and Grace Mayfield Hopper.

After Bobby graduated High School in 1953, he joined the army where he proudly served his country and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.  After an honorable discharge from the United States Army, he met, and six-months later, married his beautiful bride, Maycene, of 63.5 years on December 6, 1959.

Bobby was proud to be a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, in Lake Worth, Texas.  He loved his family, food, ice cream and hot dogs especially, also cheering on his favorite sport teams, and spending time with his church family and friends.  He was a hard-worker, and retired from El Paso Natural Gas in 1996 when he and Maycene decided to move to Fort Worth and enjoy their retirement.

Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Layne Hopper and twin infants, Samuel and Rachel Hopper; by both parents, Eddie B Hopper and Grace Hopper; his brothers, Gene and Hub Hopper, and sisters Laverne and Jane Hopper.

He is survived by his wife of 63 1/2 years, Hattie (Maycene) Hopper of New Fairview, Texas; sons, Bobby Hopper Jr. (Ace) of Mission Texas and Thomas Hopper (Allen) of Gatesville, Texas; and daughter, Starla Hopper of Fort Worth, Texas.
