Obituary

Bonnie Dell Davis Walter, 104, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018. Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Lakeside, with Dr. Jim Brewer officiating. Burial: Azleland Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Biggers Funeral Home. Born in the piney woods of East Texas, Bonnie moved to Fort Worth to attend City-County Hospital's Nursing College. She received her RN certificate in 1936 and married Fort Worth native Bert Walter that same year. After buying acreage in northwest Tarrant County in 1946, Bonnie maintained a working dairy for over 20 years while her husband worked at Swift's Packing House. Bonnie taught Sunday School many years and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lakeside since 1974. All 104 years of her life were rich, full and productive. A renowned poet and pie maker, her joy for life and talent for having fun was a positive influence to many family and friends who will miss her, but only for a short time, until re-united again in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Bennie Davis; her husband, Bert Walter, and sons, Buster Clayton Walter and Bennie Wayne Walter. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Walter Doherty; four grandchildren, Kelly Doherty McIlveene, and husband, Joe, Buster Doherty and wife Patti, Marcy Walter Pinkston and husband, Aaron, and Shannon Walter Gillaspia and husband, Mike; seven great grandchildren, Joseph and Jillian McIlveene, Bobby and Brodie Doherty, Ben Pinkston, and Kate and Ella Gillaspia.
