Boyd Lou Emmons, born November 6, 1935, passed peacefully on October 3, 2017 in Payson, Utah where he had lived the last six months. Before moving to Utah he had been a resident of Saginaw, Texas for over 40 years.
Service: 1 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Biggers Funeral Home.
Burial: Saginaw Cemetery.
Visitation: Through the day on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the funeral home.
Boyd was an only child, born and raised in Schulter, Oklahoma to Earl and Lucille Emmons.
Boyd served in the Army and Air Force for over 20 years, stationed in Vietnam and Thailand during war, France, Japan, and Germany, eventually retiring as a Technical Sergeant.
After his military service, Boyd received an associate degree in Applied Sciences from Tarrant County College and worked for the Tarrant County Data Services Department as a Network Support Coordinator over 20 years.
Boyd was a HUGE Sooners fan and surrounded himself with sports memorabilia. He also supported Texas and Air Force as long as they weren't competing against each other! Boyd enjoyed drawing, wood working, models, collecting, and fishing as well.
Boyd was a very kind man with a great sense of humor which everyone, including medical staff, found endearing. He will be deeply missed.
Boyd's precious wife of 47 years preceded in him death only six months prior.
Survivors: Boyd is survived by two children, Rod Emmons and Louann Packard, and her spouse, Matt Packard; four grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors whom he enjoyed and cared for dearly.
