Byron Charles Bolliger, 61, joined his father, Fred, in eternal life Saturday, October 6, 2012. Memorial service: 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Visitation: The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Memorials: Memorials may be made in Byrons name to the American Cancer Society by accessing the Mosaic online at www.cancer.org. Byron was born in Fort Worth on July 4, 1951, to Walter "Fred" and Betty Jane Bolliger. He graduated from Nolan High School in 1969, and continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a bachelor of science in architecture. Byron went on to further his education at the University of North Texas and received a masters in public administration. Byron committed himself to his children by being an active member of Boy Scouts of America with his sons, and in attending soccer, baseball and volleyball games with his daughters. He enjoyed camping, road trips, polka dancing and musicals with his partner. He was a sponsor of the Turtle Creek Chorale of Dallas and an active member of Dallas Cathedral of Hope until his return to Fort Worth at retirement. Throughout Byrons professional career, he made a significant impact in the lives of those in need throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area by pursuing careers in public housing planning, public education, social aid and rehabilitation needs for underserved populations. Byron dedicated both his professional and personal life to assisting members of the community in need. He is survived by: His loving partner in life, Rigo; his siblings, Janey Armstrong, Fred Bolliger and Rick Bolliger. he was married to Debbie Bolliger Pitts and Kit Bolliger. He is survived by five children he loved immensely, Chris Bolliger, Marc Bolliger, Stephanie Welda, Eric Bolliger and Gabrielle Pike; his mother, Betty Bolliger; and three beautiful granddaughters who brought joy and light to his days.
