Byron Keith Shirley, age 66, passed away on May 25, 2024. Born on October 21, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas, Byron was the second son of Wanda Lou and Jay Randall Shirley.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Gateway Church, Justin Campus.

Interment: 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Whitt Cemetery, Parker County, Whitt, Texas.

Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Biggers Funeral Home, Lake Worth, Texas.

A man of intellect and adventure, Keith earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Sul Ross State University, nurturing his insatiable thirst for knowledge. He was a passionate traveler, exploring diverse cultures and the wonders of nature across the globe. Keith's love for adventure found expression in activities such as cycling, hiking, and boating, which he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories cherished by all.

Professionally, Keith had a tremendous breadth of skills acquired from over 40 years of geological experience in the Oil and Gas industry. He possessed a broad view of geologic plays and concepts, understanding what made them work. He spent the last 15 years of his career at Hillwood Energy and was honored to be a part of the Perot team.

Keith leaves behind his devoted wife, Jeanne Shirley, with whom he shared a bond of deep love and companionship. Together, they raised four children—Brakiah "Kiah" Soria and spouse, Stephen, Ryan Shirley and spouse, Sheila, Jordan Shirley and spouse, Chelsea, and son, Marcus Shirley. Keith's legacy of love extends to his adored grandchildren—Hudson Shirley, Elijah Soria, Jasper Shirley, Peyton Jayne Shirley, Noah Soria, Corbin Shirley, Camden Shirley, and Mylah Shirley—who were the lights of his life. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Earlene Davidson, whom he loved dearly, as well as his siblings Randy Shirley, Clay Shirley, and Julie Gregg.

Keith will be remembered for his boundless love, unwavering faith, and adventurous spirit. Though he has left this earthly realm, his legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the memories he created.
