Obituary

Cameron Jones Farris was born in Dothan Alabama.

Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025, Ash Creek Baptist Church

Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery, following service

Visitation: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2025 Biggers Funeral Home.

She moved to Fort Worth and graduated from Trimble Tech in 1960. She met Gene at Montgomery Wards, where they both were employed at the time. By October of 1962 they were married and searching for the perfect homestead and spent time in Fort Worth, Burleson, and Peaster before happily settling in Azle by 1973.

Cameron was always active and social, getting involved with everything she could by lending a helping hand. She was a member of Aztec Saddle Club, AASP&RC, and NARC&SP, coached softball and umpired for Azle Youth Association while attending college. She received her RN degree in 1983. Cameron excelled in this field earning RN of the Year in 1991 for Texas Health Enterprises of America. During this time, she co-authored Training program for nurse aides in long-term care, her next life step took her into Home Health, where she retired from Professional Home Health in2022 at the age of 80.

She was sadly preceded in death by her son, Eric Farris and brother, Doc Jones III.

Cameron is survived by her husband, Gene Farris; daughter, Alicia Redding and husband, Robby; as well as bonus daughters, Audra Cassel, Misty McConnel and spouse, Chad; grandchildren, Trey Redding, Bridget Phillips, Wrangler Redding, Jeremy McDaniel, Shyanne Cassel, Levi Cassel. Shaylea "Bugg" Cassel, River Cassel, Grant McConnel, as well her great-granddaughter, Gena-Marie Farris and many nieces and nephews of whom she dearly loved one and all.
