Carol Sue Schlosser, 87, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Born June 21, 1938, in Ackerly, Texas, to Erlene and Elmer Mashburn, Sue grew up on her family's farm in Stanton, Texas. She graduated from Stanton High School, where her bright spirit shone on the volleyball and basketball courts, as well as on the cheerleading squad.

After graduation, she began her career in Civil Service at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas. Life took her to many places, including Hawaii (Hickam AFB) and Ohio (Wright-Patterson AFB), before she eventually made her home in Fort Worth, Texas. She served faithfully at Carswell AFB until her retirement.

Sue's greatest joy was her family. She lovingly raised three children and delighted in later years as "Grandma," filling her home with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She had a gift for creating beauty—whether through her sewing and quilting, tending her garden, searching for knickknacks & antiques, or caring for her beloved pets.

Sue was also known for her vibrant social spirit. As a long-standing member of Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years (awarded the Golden Circle for her loyalty and commitment) and a proud founder & participant (Queen Mother) in The Red Hat Society chapter in Lake Worth, she built cherished friendships that brought her great joy. Her loyalty, laughter, and kindness left an impression on everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erlene and Elmer Mashburn, and her beloved daughter, Shanda Sue.

Those who will continue to honor her memory include her children, Keith Schlosser and wife, Evie; Frank Schlosser and wife, Debbie; Susan Shepard and husband, Jon; her grandchildren, Lauren Isaacs, Christianna Schlosser, Alex Schlosser, Maddy Shepard, Maili Schlosser, and Austin Cody Schlosser "AC"; great-granddaughter, Lilly Sharrock; her brother, James Mashburn; and sister, Mitzie Mashburn.

Sue will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—a woman whose love, faith, and joy enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
