Carolyn June Thomas, 87, passed away Sunday morning, May 26, 2013, at her home.
A private memorial service will be held at the Thomas Farm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to First Baptist Church of Crowell, 1122 N. Main, Box 179, Crowell, Texas 79227. Condolences can be left on Junes online guest book.
June was born July 6, 1925, in Vernon to Tanner and Ima Billington. She grew up in Crowell, where she attended Crowell High School, edited the school newspaper and was head Wildcat cheerleader. She graduated with the tornado class of 1942. She moved to Fort Worth after her Crowell home was destroyed by the tornado and attended the University of Texas.
June married Timothy L. Thomas at College Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth on January 31, 1948. They were happily married for 65 years. During these wonderful years she loved spending time with her family, reading, solving crosswords, following sports, entertaining and traveling, especially to Deer Valley, Colorado, nearly every summer.
The Thomas family would like to express gratitude to Glenda Harnack, Linda Gutierrez, Tonia McKay, Ahnna Escobedo, Tamara Hinton and others too numerous to mention for the great care provided our wonderful wife, mother, friend and "Guardian Angel."
June was preceded in death by her parents, Tanner and Ima Billington; a sister, Billie OFlaherty; and brother-in-law, Les Benner.
