It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Chad Michael Burns, born July 22, 1975, in Fort Worth, Texas. He gave his heart to all of us for 49 years and 11 days, until his heart gave out and he was carried into heaven by the angels on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Interment:  3:30 pm, Thursday, following service at Whitt Cemetery, Whitt, Texas.

Visitation:  6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Biggers Funeral Chapel, 6100 Azle Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76135.

From day one, Chad captured our hearts with those deep dimples in his mischievous smile. Love, kindness, loyalty and grace became his trademark for all of his life. He loved deeply… and above all, he adored his son Gavin Michael Burns. An enormously proud father, he just loved hanging with his son, whether they were watching Godzilla or Deadpool movies, playing their video games, or just sharing a pizza … Gavin brought so much joy to his heart.

Chad grew up with a heart after God, excelled in school with a brilliant mind, kept close to his friends for all of his life. He was a diligent and productive employee -- the last 15 years he loved his job with Path Advantage, watching it grow from a small crew into a family of 300, and they've expressed how deeply he will be missed by all of them. Several of his friends told us he purposed to bring a smile to every single person he encountered each day and rarely ever failed at it …

This beautiful son found beauty in everything … his face lighting up in awe of sunrises, sunsets, and majestic sights of his last Alaskan cruise filled his phone. Chad was a deeply spiritual man, loved Jesus, and had an unusual curiosity of all "near-death" testimonies -- loved to discuss those with all of us...he was also kind and gracious to others of any faith, always willing to engage with curiosity of their own ways of connecting to God. And anyone who knew him, would know of his love of ALL sports...both those he could participate in, and those he could cheer on with his friends, especially Gavin. He loved being in stadiums filled with cheering fans, especially the Rangers, Stars, and Cowboys.

He LOVED music, almost ALL music, preferring songs with meaning in their lyrics and soul in their melodies. U2, Coldplay, Elevation, and Jeremy Riddle were some of his favorites. His family loved being regaled by him about the beauty of being connected to the band and the audience in arena-filled concerts.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Junior Masterson; grandmother, Dorothy Burns; uncles, Roy and Ronnie Burns; and cousin, Leslie Hudson.

Chad will be lovingly cherished forever by his son, Gavin Michael Burns; father, Gary L Burns; mother, Toni Wilson and husband, Phillip; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Melissa Burns and their children, Tristan and Isy, M. Shalom and Gracie; grandmother, Lula Mae Masterson; uncles and aunts, Michael and Patrice Masterson, Brenda and Marvin House, Sheila and Bill Tucker; cousins, Brandon and Amanda House, Shannon McCright, D'Aun Harris, Derek and Brody Masterson, and innumerable family and friends who loved him deeply.

In short, Chad touched every life he encountered, be it for a passing moment, a season, or for a lifetime. He found beauty where others might miss it. When he walked into a room with that deep-dimpled smile, it somehow transferred to your own face, and he left you feeling like you mattered a little more than you knew… we are devastated at the thought of a world without him here with us, but there's no doubt his Papa and Uncles are showing him around heaven and his eyes are wide in awe and wonder, and he will be waiting at the gate to show us all the sights when we arrive. Chad Michael, you are so loved, and we are grateful to have had you for the time that we had … and we will be waiting for your big hugs when our days are ended here …
