Her early years were spent growing up in Rule, and she was a proud 1957 graduate of Rule High School. After high school, she attended Business College in Abilene, Texas. She later found work in Odessa, Texas, and lived there until her father's retirement from the railroad. She moved with her parents to Lake Worth, Texas, in 1963. Charlene worked at North Fort Worth Bank on N. Main Street in Fort Worth for several years; she also worked in the cashier's department in the Sears Department Store at Ridgmar Mall.
Charlene was a long-time member of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church. She was a colorful woman and quite a character, through and through. She possessed a mischievous spirit and a sweet soul. She was quick to find humor and loved to laugh. She was a fierce supporter of her children and to those she held dear. Charlene loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, Elvis & watermelon.
