Charles Maurice Winterrowd, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 7, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026, First Methodist Church of Azle, 200 Church St, Azle, TX 76020.

Born in Vernon, Texas, on December 6, 1942, Charles later attended Azle High School, where he met the love of his life, Margaret. The two married and spent the remainder of their lives in the Azle community, building a family and a home together. Wanting to make a positive difference for the local youth, Charles dedicated many years of service to the Azle school board.

Charles also built a distinguished career with General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) that spanned more than 45 years, following a brief initial period of employment with Pettibone Heavy Equipment.

Outside of his hard work, Charles was a man of many passions. He was an avid auto enthusiast with a deep love for hot rods and classic cars. An accomplished woodworker and carver, he possessed a creative spirit and threw himself into many hobbies that piqued his interest over the years. Above all, he brought joy to those around him and always had a joke ready to go in any conversation.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret, as well as his parents, brothers, and sisters.

He is survived by his devoted sons, David Winterrowd and Danny Winterrowd; his daughter-in-law, Leslie Winterrowd; and his three cherished grandchildren, Mia, Luke, and Noah Winterrowd.
