The world lost one of it's most beautiful, bright, shining lights when Chasten M. Burks left much much too soon on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. He is so very much the beloved and cherished brother, cousin, grandchild, nephew, friend and love of so many. All who knew him will miss him, all family, friends, teachers, coaches, fellow marines. He left an impact on any who met him.

A Service will be conducted at the Graveside with Military Honors at 10:15 am, Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Chasten was born September 30, 2002. He was bright, intelligent, loving, generous and curious about everything in this world. Everything he wanted to do he did with his full heart, full commitment and exceled in whatever endeavor he chose.

He joined the Marines right out of high school and loved the challenge, the dedication and discipline, the honor and integrity, and personal courage required to be a United States Marine. He loved his country and loved the U.S. Constitution and everything good and right he felt it embodied. He considered it the finest document ever written.

He had come to accept and understand a higher power and firmly believed in his soul and believed he would see those who went before him, including his father, once he left here.

He was and still is, one of the very best souls to ever make a short visit to this world.

Chasten is survived by his brother, Steven Burks; cousins, Kayla (who helped raise him), Kaylie (who is more of a sister), Kyler, Paisley, Hadyn, Cadence, Emery, Evette, Dayton, Adriel; grandmothers, Nancy (who raised him), Rose, and Shelley; aunts, Allison, Julie, Kaylee; uncles, Tyler and Trevor; and great aunt, Sandy; and many more.
