Christian Shane Fonville, 14, of Azle was welcomed into heaven Friday, February 26, 2016, while surrounded by his family and enormous amounts of prayer. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Azle. Committal will be at 4 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Jones County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Azle, 200 Church St. in Azle. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Christian Shane Fonville Youth Foundation, c/o The National Bank of Texas, Azle Branch, 405 Commerce St., Azle, Texas 76020. Christian was born in Fort Worth to Kyle and Christa Fonville on August 25, 2001. Christian was in eighth grade at Azle Junior High South where he was an honor roll student and served as student council president. Christian was also an active member of the junior high tennis team and enjoyed helping coaches with the football team, as well as any other group or individual who needed a helping hand. Christian was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Azle. He joyfully participated in the UPWARD basketball program as a player and a volunteer and as a member of the youth group. In the short time Christian was with us he had a huge impact on those around him. His contagious smile paved the way for him to share Gods love with others. His daddys quick wit was apparent from early on and his mothers caring ways evident in everything he did. He was a friend to everyone he touched and always brought joy to those around him. Young, old and everyone in between were quick to call him friend and Christian rarely met a stranger. But of all Christians friends - his spunky dog Spike was his best. Christians absence will be felt not only by his human friends, but his four-legged ones, too. Christian is survived by his loving parents, Kyle and Christa Fonville; his devoted sister, Kylie; paternal grandparents, Mary and Burl Fonville; maternal grandparents, Randy and Carol Davis; aunt, Jennifer Ashley and cousins, Jaron, Chase and Jeffrey; uncle and aunt, Mark and Jennifer Davis and cousins, Truman and Cash; uncle and aunt, Jason and Caren Williams and cousins, Cole, Lane and Jacy; in addition to numerous other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
