Obituary

Clarence William Winterrowd, 82, loving father, grandfather and brother, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, following several health complications throughout the course of 2023.

Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024 Biggers Funeral Home, with the Reverend Wesley Shotwell officiating.

Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024 at Biggers Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request, please make a donation to your favorite charity or church.

Clarence was born on July 12, 1941, the son of Dora and Frank Winterrowd in Claude, Texas. Clarence married Deloris Dianne Hilliard on March 12, 1960 and after living in Azle and Fort Worth in the 1960s, they settled into their home on Eagle Mountain in unincorporated Fort Worth in 1971 where they have lived ever since.

Clarence initially worked for the Fort Worth Star Telegram and with the impending birth of their first child – Christy – he found a job at General Dynamics later Lockheed Martin in 1963. There he worked his way up to Engineer in Operations Research. He worked on numerous fighter planes including the F-111, F-16, F-22, A-12 and the JSF F35 until 2002, although he was called back for contract due to his expertise in his field for an additional two years. After retirement, Clarence and Dianne enjoyed being at home and traveling together and with friends as well as visiting with their large extended family.

Clarence was very active in organizing gatherings of the class of 1959 and other alumni of Azle High School. He and his wife were always in service to friends and their church community. Clarence was an active longtime member of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church but more recently he and Dianne moved their membershhip to Ash Creek Baptist Church.

Clarence was preceded in death by his: parents, Dora and Frank Winterrowd; stepmother, Fannie Bell Edwards; sisters, Thelma Bagget, Betty Hoyle, Ann Winterrowd and Glenda Potts; and his brothers, Earl Winterrowd, Bobby Winterrowd and Thomas Winterrowd.

Survivors: His Wife, Dianne Winterrowd; children, Christy Ann and spouse, Christopher Campbell, Scott Winterrowd and Noel Amador; grandchildren, Lauren Stein and Lindsey Campbell, Christopher Campbell and Brandon Campbell and 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Frankie Prothro and Frieda Bain; brothers, Charles and Jimmy Winterrowd; along with many loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
