Obituary

Claude reunited with Margie, his loving wife of 60 years, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Private Committal Service: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Claude was born November 23, 1926 in San Macros, the oldest of three boys. Claude and Margie Pippin were married September 3, 1949 in Greenville. Later, they moved to Fort Worth where he went into the aircraft industry. He retired from Bell Helicopter after 40 years of service at the age of 87. He was honored by his church for 55 years of service as a deacon. Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Pippin Townsend; by brothers, Johnnie Cressy Townsend, and Sumrow Wayland Townsend; and by his parents, John Mitchell and Fannie Townsend. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Brookdale Richland Hills, and the wonderful angels of Community Hospice of Texas, and Hospice House. Many thanks and love to our close friends who were there to support us. Survivors: His Son, Eric Townsend; daughter, Jana Townsend-Stone and husband, Keith; son, Scott Townsend and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Emily and David Stone, and Abigail Scott Townsend.
