Connie Ross lived her life with a spirit that was impossible to forget. She passed away peacefully at her home in Saginaw, Texas, September 12, 2025, just one day shy of her 80th birthday.

Born September 13, 1945 to Earvy and Grace Dominey, Connie was raised in a home that valued faith, strength, and love. She carried those values with her always, sharing them with her brother, Joe, her sister, Patsy, and eventually with the family she built.

In 1963, she married her partner for life, Lester Ross. Their nearly 57-year marriage was filled with joy, faith, and laughter. They raised their family in Saginaw, where their home became the heart of countless gatherings, adventures, and traditions. Connie loved the surprises Lester would plan like last minute trips, and she cherished every shared memory. Connie was always happy, had the most beautiful smile. She cared deeply about her family and friends and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable. Her home was filled with love and laughter.

Connie found her greatest joy in being a mother and a Nanny. She raised her daughters with love and encouragement. Her role as 'Nanny' brought her endless happiness as she celebrated her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren.

Her family remembers her sayings: "We have the best family", "Don't take things so seriously", and "Life is too short – Enjoy it!". She believed in sunshine, rainbows, and the power of faith, often reminding others that God is in control and everything happens for a reason.

Connie, along with her husband, Lester worked with the youth group at Saginaw United Methodist, then later at St. John the Apostle United Methodist Church. She pursued a career in accounting where she worked for Tandy Corporation, Montgomery Ward, Sunbelt Nursery and Fort Worth Independent School District, where she retired in 2010. She loved to travel and took amazing trips to Hawaii and Alaska with her husband. Her trip to Italy was with her daughter Sylvia where she got to see the Pope. It was an amazing spiritual experience that will be treasured. She loved to go to the casino and would go to Winstar every chance she got. She loved to watch ancient aliens, anything about Egyptian history, but her favorite show was Everybody Loves Raymond.

Days before her passing, she told her family to smile and to be happy even though she knew it was going to be hard on her family that she was leaving this world. She wanted her family to be happy and to know she is okay.

Connie was beautiful, selfless, kind, loving, and will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the laughter, kindness, and love she planted in her family and all who knew her.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Lester Ross; her precious great grandbaby, Robert Edward Spence IV; her parents, Earvy and Grace Dominey; brother, Joe Dominey; and brother-in-law, Harry Stark.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Spence and husband, Rick Viegas of Arlington, TX , and Sylvia Ross of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Lori Russell and husband, Brent of Boulder, CO, Robert Spence III and wife, Angelina of Sherman, TX; great-grandchildren, Millie Russell, Ella Murphy and husband, Isaiah, Olivia Russell, Walker Spence; sister, Pat Stark of Bryan, TX; sister-in-law, Sylvia Dominey of Crowley, TX; and her fur babies, Cookie and Isabella.
