Connie Maurine "Darlyn" Tucker a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021. Connie will lie in state Tuesday and Wednesday. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Connie Maurine "Darlyn" Tucker was born March 3,1922 in Baird to the late John Thomas Miller and Katie Elizabeth Rose Miller. One of her favorite past times was to fish. She had many talents including: painting, needlepoint, and sewing. Darlyn was always working on something. Whether it was a cross stitch, making crosses made out of ribbon for loved ones, or working cross word and jig saw puzzles. She was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan. Darlyn would often be found by her family up in the wee hours of the morning watching a game in a different time zone. She had a way to make everyone feel special. That among many other reasons are why the name Darlyn was so fitting for her. Darlyn enjoyed the little things in life like watching the clouds, looking at beautiful flowers and birdwatching. Darlyn was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Rook Tucker; parents; brothers, William Jackson, Uttie Ovilene, Allen Shackelford, and Jessie Garvin Miller; and sisters, Margaret Lanelle McKinney and Lois Elizabeth Mendoza. Survivors: Son, Ed Tucker and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Kim Tucker, Keith Tucker, Michael Case and wife, Brandi, Lonnie Phillips and wife, Amy, and Darrell Phillips; six great-grandchildren; niece, Beth Worley; nephews, Tony Mendoza Jr., Chris Mendoza, and Patrick Mendoza; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
