Darrell Gene Carter, age 75, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Service: 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 8, 2023 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Visitation: 2:00 to 3:00 pm, prior to service.

Darrell was born May 25, 1948 in Hamilton Field, California to Cranford Carter and Maud (Greaves) Carter. He graduated from Castleberry High School in 1966 and then attended UTA. Darrell worked at Swaim's Grocery starting at the age of 14 and retired at the age of 57.

His passion was country dancing. He loved to share his knowledge with others and highly encouraged them to embrace dance. He also enjoyed and participated in various sports such as volleyball, basketball, and softball throughout his life. He developed an amazing bond with his nephew, Braden, and was an avid, consistent fan at his sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cranford and Maud Carter, and by his brother, Troy Carter.

He is survived by his daughter, Casie Carter; siblings, Mildred Pinkston, Norma and Mike Thomas, Calvin and Sharon Carter, Avin and Joy Carter and Cathy Porter; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and his friends Peggy Carter and Vicki Taylor.
