Memorial Service: 1:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022, at Biggers Funeral Chapel in Lake Worth, Texas. David (67) was born in McKinney, Texas, and moved to Fort Worth in 1956. He graduated from Paschal High School 1972 and from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 1976, with a degree in Marine Biology. He was a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) and he dedicated 40 years to the profession working for many companies including TranSystems, and Texas Department of Transportation. He was a member of Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) and was on the committee for TX DOTs Committee of Geomatics and Surveying (COGS) from 2014-2018 and was a Chairman of COGS 2017-2018. David enjoyed sailing, fishing, golfing, and watching Texas A&M Football. His humor and quick wit will always be remembered and deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Margaret Dawson, and wife Sandra Ellisor Dawson. David is survived by his daughters, Nichole Von Wahlde and husband, Paul and Lauren Dawson; grandchildren, Graham & Logan Von Wahlde; sisters, Julia Stelzer and husband, Bill, and Karen Weil and husband, Larry; and nieces, Stephanie Stelzer Hunn and Denise Weil Dietz; nephews Chris Stelzer and Rick Weil.
