Obituary

David H. McMullen, 66, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013, surrounded by the love of his family. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Ave., Lake Worth. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday in McMullen Cemetery in Clearwater, Florida. Memorials may be made to a hospice or charity of choice. Chief Master Sgt. McMullen was awarded three clusters Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (9), Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (3), Air Force Organizational Excellence, Combat Readiness, Air Force Good Conduct (7), National Defense Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Medal, Air Force Longevity (5), Professional Military Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon. He served August 2, 1990, to February 2, 1995, in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Dave was instrumental in delivering Cobra Ball III aircraft. He was quality representative for Det 2, responsible for delivery of the aircraft approved/funded by President Reagan while Reagan was recovering from his assassination attempt. He ensured that the RTOS system was redesigned, stable and eventually delivered to the 24th SRS, SAC. He is survived by his wife, Dolores "Dee" McMullen; son, Matthew Lee McMullen and wife, Ashley, of Montgomery; granddaughter, Natalee McMullen of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Ron Stahle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law, Judy Zachar of Holiday, Florida; nine nieces and nephews.
