Donald F Post, age 67, passed from his earthly life into the loving realms of Heaven on January 16, 2024.

Don fought a strong, courageous battle over the past two years, but cancer has lost & Heaven has won. He alas is reunited with those who have passed before him, especially his mom; Anna Mae (Feiner) Pfost who died when Don was a very young boy.

Don was a man of many expertise talents. His fine cooking/grilling skills were truly top-notch, a fine fisherman, music aficionado, sports enthusiast (especially his beloved NY Yankees & NY Giants), and his true appreciation & love of the beach (especially the New Jersey shore), and lover to all the dogs he raised over the years, leaving behind his most recent puppy; "Sir Bingo", a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. But most of all, Don will be forever remembered for the deep & devoted love he had for his family and countless dear friends.  Born June 6, 1956, to the late Charles & Anna (Feiner) Pfost in Elizabeth, NJ, Don grew up in north New Jersey. He learned at an early age to relish his enjoyment of fishing, playing on the beach, enjoyment of the New Jersey Boardwalks, playing ball, & perfecting his fine culinary skills. He cultivated many lifelong friendships and lived his "Jersey-Boy" life with full gusto.

Don's daughter Catherine (Pfost) Luisi was born to he & his high school sweetheart in 1979 shortly after their graduation. Don followed in his father's footsteps and pursued a lifelong career path in the Banking/Mortgage industries. While still living and working in North Jersey, Don met his late wife; Susan (Meredith) Pfost & they married in 1988. Together they welcomed their two cherished children: Justin (son) & Brittany (daughter) into the world and their lives. In 1998, Don & Susan moved the family to Williamstown, NJ with their two young children to follow a job opportunity. Don remained in touch over the years with many of his countless dear friends and family from north Jersey & spoke fondly of his childhood times & shenanigans with them. Like with every aspect of Don's personality, he & Susan started a new chapter together in south Jersey. Moving into a new residential development on School House Road in Williamstown, they opened their hearts and home with a welcoming & enthusiastic spirit. The Pfost open house hospitality was known always to include, great food, excellent music, neighborhood pranks and many bonds of lifelong genuine friendships at their new south Jersey residence. Together they traveled with neighbors and their children, organized fishing & beach day excursions, school events and neighborhood socials. Often, time was spent sitting and relaxing on his back porch with a cocktail & cigar. He so loved and cherished his days on School House Road and was also fondly loved and cherished by many.

As the children grew up, Don continued his career in Banking/Mortgage industry where has mentored and fostered many strong relationships. He was known by many colleagues for his knowledgeable, kind, and caring character and has kept in touch with many over the years. In late 2015 Susan tragically passed away. As his children were now grown, Don faced another new chapter in his life. In 2019, Don accepted a position in the Dallas, Texas area with a mortgage software company. Again, with great gusto, Don forged forward on his new adventure in Texas. Shortly after his move to Texas, Don met his wife Valerie (a.k.a. Sugar) & they married in 2020 on a beach in Sarasota, Florida. Valerie & Don shared so much in common, a love of family & friends, travel, relaxing on the beach, gardening, good music, and a love of Don's culinary expertise. Valerie often teased it was a marriage of "a little bit Yankee & a little bit Y'all". He was welcomed into his new Texas family with loving arms for his kind, generous & fun-loving spirit. Even after falling ill in late 2021, Don & Valerie spent time traveling, visiting New Jersey often, going to sporting events, the Texas Rodeo, concerts & simply enjoying life on his back porch in Texas. In true Don Pfost character, he was always prepared for Texas friends and family to drop by. And was always prepared to throw something amazing on the grill & simply enjoy the fellowship.

Don was preceded in his death by his parents: Charles & Anna (Feiner) Pfost; brother. Charles Pfost (a.k.a. Skipper) and wife, Susan (Meredith) Pfost; his beloved mother-in-law, Patricia Meredith.

Don is survived by his wife, Valerie (Nafziger); daughters, Catherine (James) Luisi and Brittany (Pfost) Esposito; son, Justin Pfost; his Texas stepdaughters, Danielle Nafziger & Andrea (Jon) Davis; his dearly beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Abby, Aiden & Alyssa Luisi and Peyton Esposito & Landon Pfost; his Texas step-grandchildren, Sebastian, Felicity, Charlotte-Joy & Francis Davis; his sister, Margaret (Pfost) Burke and his Texas mother-in-law, Sally Price (a.k.a. "Ma"). It would be remiss not to mention Don is survived by loving nieces, Tracey (Pfost) Reyes, Courtney and Morgan Burke; many great nephews, dear sister-in laws, brother-in-law; and other loving family members and countless, countless lifelong dear friends.

Don, you will be forever remembered and remain in our hearts. Thank you for the love, kindness, loyalty & compassion you showered upon all of us. Heaven has truly won a fine & decent man.

Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held in the Community Room followed by lunch.

February 24th @ 1:00pm in Marlton, NJ
