Dorla Dean (Durant) Blue, age 93, passed from this life on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born on February 12, 1931, in Stonewall, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Charles D. Durant and Mary Elizabeth (Gill) Durant.
Service: 1:30 pm, Friday, February 7, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Lakeside.
Interment: Azleland Memorial Park following the Service.
Visitation: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, then 1:00 to 1:30 pm, prior to Service.
Dorla was a devoted housewife who dedicated her life to her family. She was married to Kenneth Blue, with whom she shared two loving sons, Michael and Kevin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Blue; parents, Charley and Mary Durant; brothers, Sonny Durant and wife Pat, Dan Durant, and Gene Durant; sister, Sue Coplin and husband Ken "Cope"; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Blue, and nephew, Dan Durant.
Dorla is survived by her sons, Michael Blue of Grandview, Texas, and Kevin Blue and his wife, Sandy of Sansom Park, Texas. She leaves behind her grandsons, Christopher Blue and his wife, Catrice of Quinlan, Texas and Jason Blue of Quinlan, Texas. Her legacy continues with her great-granddaughters, Christina Blue of Keene, Texas and Becky Blue and her husband, Brandon of Goose Creek, South Carolina. She is also cherished by her great-great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Benjamin of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Traci of Quinlan, Texas. Dorla is lovingly remembered by her brother, Pete Durant and his wife, Nona of North Richland Hills, Texas; sister-in-law, Sandra Durant of Fittstown, Oklahoma; as well as 11 nephews, 2 nieces, and numerous other family members and friends.
Dorla's life was marked by her love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
