Dorothy D. Goodwin passed away at home Saturday, November 22, 2014, surrounded by her family following complications from Alzheimers disease. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Dorothy was born in Edgewood and was one of seven brothers and sisters in the Smith family. She was married for 72 years to her loving husband, Shelby Lloyd "Pete" Goodwin. Dorothy loved to garden and play bridge. She was active in her church where she frequently taught Sunday school. She is survived by her husband, Pete; sister, Virginia; daughters, Docia and husband, Scott, and Sandra and husband, Bill; granddaughters, Kristie and husband, Lucas, and Kathleen and fiance, Aaron; great-granddaughter, Shelby; and all the wonderful home helpers that cared for Dorothy in her last years, Carolyn Harris, Virginia Phea, Forestine Dancer, Julia Butler and Illiana Gonzales.
