Dorothy "DeeDot" Lawler went to her Heavenly Home Saturday, January 15, 2022 after 100 blessed years. The Bible says that "a Gracious woman gets honor" and we would like you to join the family in honoring her at Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Ash Creek Cemetery, 300 South Stewart Street in Azle. She attended all twelve years at Geraldine/Holliday schools and graduated with the Class of 1939. Dot enjoyed playing tennis, volleyball, softball and water skiing. She and a group of friends continued participating in those activities well into mid-life. Dot and her family moved to Azle in 1959 and they quickly became active in Ash Creek Baptist Church. In 1966 she bought Azle Florist and she worked to serve the schools and community for over 55 years. At age 99, she was still working in the flower shop daily. Her first grandchild (Shannon) gave her the nickname "DeeDot" in 1972 and it became her official title for almost 50 years. As a friend, mother, grandmother and aunt, she was always there to listen and support. One of her florist associates described her as always supportive, loving, honest, and kind. She loved with "unconditional love". She loved God with all of her heart and strove to serve Him daily. DeeDot was a woman of few words but when she spoke "she meant what she said and expected you to listen". Proverbs 31 best describes DeeDot… "She was clothed in strength and dignity, she laughed without fear of the future, her words were wise and she gave instructions with kindness. Her children rise up and call her blessed". She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and granddaughter, Jaylee. Survivors: She leaves a legacy of love to her family. She is survived by one niece, two children, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Survivors include Suzanne and Roddy Murr and family of Azle; Lynna Jo Willis of California; Shannon and Todd Smith and family of Weatherford; and Eddie Lawler and family of Elkhart. She is also survived by her "family by choice flower shop girls": Sandy, Becky, Tammy, Donna, Boots and LaDonna. Service Ash Creek Cemetery 300 S.
