Dorothy Brawner McLeod, 89, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at the funeral home. Dorothy June Brawner was born June 3, 1928 in Joshua. She married Billie Wayne McLeod on March 16, 1946. Dorothy had worked as a bookkeeper for Continental Oil Co. and The All Church Press for many years and was a long distance operator for Bell Telephone Company in the late 1940s. More recently, Dorothy was a homemaker, a former member of the Lake Worth Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and Co-Chair for the Democratic Precinct #4-138. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter, June Holubek; parents, Tristum and Myrtle Brawner; and brother, Truman Brawner. Survivors: Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Belinda A. Barker and husband, Brent; sister-in-law, Cherry McLeod Allen; grandchildren, Melony Holubek Mhoon and husband, Steve, Jody Holubek, Brooke Barker, Bridget Barker Fiscus and husband, Chris; great grandchildren, Kayla and Emily Holubek; and several nieces and nephews.
