Dorothy Jo Slocum, 69, a homemaker and lifelong area resident, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Slocum enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, especially during the holidays, traveling and playing bingo. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Slocum III. She is survived by: Her husband, David L. Slocum Sr.; children, Cathy S. Horton and husband, Dean, and David L. Slocum Jr.; brothers, Jimmy McDaniel and Donald Pack; grandchildren, Shelly R. Manning, Rusty D. Thompson, Jason S. and Andrew T. Slocum; and great-grandchildren, Emily R. Manning and Jake R. Manning, Madison M. and Journey Slocum.
