Doug Carmin passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. The family would like all attendees to please take a few moments to write favorite memory of Doug. If you would like to bring that with you or we will have a place set up for you to do so at the service. Doug was born on February 7, 1963 in Denver, Colorado to Douglas and Rachel Carmin. He was raised in Yukon, Oklahoma with his siblings, Raymond and Darla. Doug attended school in Mustang, Oklahoma graduating from Mustang High School class of 1981. In high school, he was active in football and wrestling, both of which were passions he carried through life. After attending college at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, Doug moved to Fort Worth, Texas to start a 35-year career with Lockheed Martin as a System Integration Test Engineer. He took great pride in his years at Lockheed Martin and enjoyed bringing his family and friends to Lockheed for air shows and open houses at every opportunity. There wasn't a time that a jet would fly over the house, that he wouldn't excitedly share with his family what kind of aircraft it was! Doug married his love, Brenda, on May 4, 1992 in Fort Worth, Texas and together they raised three daughters: Ashley, Brianna, and Allyssa. In 2007, Doug became a grandfather to Hayden (whom she affectionately called 'Stud'). A devoted father, husband, and grandfather, Doug most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He took great joy in traveling from the east coast to the west with his family. Whether it was a weekend trip or a 2-week caravan, they were always exciting adventures that have left us with many great stories to tell. On these vacations or at home, you could always find him grilling steak and salmon or in the kitchen whipping up an amazing dish. Although, Doug was most famously known for his Annual Halloween Campout chili. As a family, we cherished movie nights where he introduced us to the great underdog stories like Rudy, Remember the Titans, and Rocky, as well as other great classics. Once his granddaughter came along, he couldn't wait to introduce her to his favorite thing, Braum's ice cream, and develop a common love for comic books. Although we were a house divided (Go Pokes! Boomer Sooner!), Doug's love of sports was best expressed on OU football gameday. He always had his family cheering alongside him- except when the game got too intense and we had to leave! Above all things: Doug loved his family and friends. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Carmin. Doug is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Ashley, Brianna, and Allyssa; mother, Rachel; brother, Raymond; sister, Darla; niece, Diamond; granddaughter, Hayden; and great-niece, Rachel.
