Douglas Moore was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Navy Veteran Father Eugene Moore and Mother Verna, known as Estelle Moore, on February 16, 1955. Growing up in the baby boomer generation, Douglas played sports and loved sci-fi, horror, and comedy TV/Movies. He decided at a young age to do what was right, not because he had to, but because that was what he believed in.

Douglas desired to follow in his father's footsteps and be a part of the military; however, he was denied due to having clubfoot and an enlarged heart. Douglas researched various employment and educational opportunities after graduating from Arlington Heights High School, which led him to the path of becoming a Registered Nurse at Tarrant County College when male RNs were rare. Douglas was a Cardiac ICU Charge Registered Nurse for over thirty-five years, meeting and caring for thousands and thousands of individuals.

By taking this path, little did he know Douglas would meet his first wife, have a child at age 37 in 1991, Krystal Moore, then meet his second wife and soulmate, Rebecca Moore, at age 40 in 1998, of twenty-seven plus years. Douglas also met many of his best friends, including Carol, Roger, Phyllis, Mary, Hugh, Mike, and others, over thirty years while working at multiple hospitals in the Fort Worth region.

Douglas traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe on his own and with family/friends, undeterred by any medical conditions, surgeries, or traumas he faced, creating memories with family and friends that would last a lifetime. Douglas enjoyed being able to smile, laugh, and have a good time in any situation, which instantly radiated across the room. Douglas gave his heart and natural will to overcome any life challenge that may have presented itself, which gave courage and hope to those around him.

Douglas was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend, Registered Nurse, and organ donor who loved life. Douglas lived the best of his days and will sincerely be missed always and forever.

He is survived by his wife‍, Rebecca Moore; biological daughter, Krystal Moore; daughter by marriage, Michelle Corley and husband, John; son by marriage, Richard Kemp;  adopted daughter, Jasmine Moore; and

grandchildren by marriage, Timothy and Madison Russell, Ashley and Aaron Corley, and Tyler Edwards.
