Obituary

Edgar "Ed" William Bounds, 60, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Lakeside, 8801 Jacksboro Hwy., Lakeside. The family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas 75219. Ed worked tirelessly to provide for his family in career fields ranging from automotive sales to real estate to commercial construction. He volunteered as a Shriner clown, visiting the elderly and infirm. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman known for his passionate preparation of brisket, fresh-fried fish, and venison for the people he loved. Although a self-proclaimed "redneck," those who knew Ed will greatly miss his humorous, loving heart grounded in the values of family, hard-work, generosity and love. He was preceded in death by brothers, Terry and Steven; and a sister, Janell Parisher. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane Bounds; sons, Byron and Ryon Bounds; granddaughter, Elle Bounds; brother, Charles Bounds; and sister, Celia Pitney.
