Edward F. Wood, 74, a retired Navy veteran, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Edward was born October 10, 1941, in Lynden, Washington, to Francis M. and Mary Nyman Wood. He had been an area resident since 2007 and loved woodworking, making clocks and ships, and tinkering with old cars. He is survived by his wife, Betty Wood; children, Elizabeth Maldonado, Trinity Keller, Jennifer Hinkley, Courtney Gilmour, Mark Wood, Joey Wood, Dawn Kellam, Robert Wood, and Brian Wood; brother, Jimmy Wood; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
