Edwin Christopher Ferguson, lovingly known as "DJ," lived a life grounded in faith, purpose, and gratitude. He proudly acknowledged that God was first in his life and that Jesus Christ was his Savior, giving thanks for every blessing he received.

Born on October 24, 1979, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Roosevelt and Cassie Ferguson, DJ grew into a hardworking, outgoing, and determined young man. After graduating from Harper Creek High School in Battle Creek, Michigan, he moved to the Dallas Fort Worth area to be closer to his family. There, he discovered his passion for sales, beginning a career that spanned more than two decades at Freeman GMC in Grapevine before continuing at Hiley GMC in Fort Worth.

In 2011, DJ met the love of his life, Crystal, and they later married. Together, they created and hosted an original podcast that ran for ten years, earning recognition, taking them across the country to interview musicians' artists, actors, and directors in the entertainment industry.

DJ often shared wisdom from his father: "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future." He lived by those words, striving to be the best salesman, husband, father, and friend he could be. His dedication earned him recognition among the top salesmen in the state of Texas.

A devoted father, DJ raised a son with autism who will graduate high school in 2026 and has earned his first-degree black belt. He poured positive affirmations into both of his sons, teaching them to strive for excellence. With a daughter who had special needs, DJ also volunteered as a coach and mentor with the Eagle Mountain Saginaw Thunder Special Olympics Team, giving his time and heart to a community he deeply cared about.

DJ has always embraced a variety of hobbies that showcase his creativity and passion, such as drawing, collecting comic books, and immersing himself in the worlds of superheroes and anime. His enthusiasm for gaming and his appreciation for music of all genres reflect his vibrant personality. From a young age, DJ's love for animals grew, and this compassion only became stronger as he matured. He dedicated himself to saving animals and once aspired to become a veterinarian. However, after a summer spent volunteering, he learned the heart wrenching truth that he couldn't save every animal, which deeply impacted him.

Throughout his life, DJ has been a social soul with an open heart, often expressing his emotions openly. Family vacations meant so much to him, as they were a time to bond and create lasting memories together. His ability to foster love and creativity within his family made him the essential glue that brought them all together.

DJ never met a stranger. Whether coworker or customer, he considered everyone a friend. Once he sold you a car, you became part of his story connected on social media and in life. Known for his signature phrase, "I make it do what it don't," often followed by his cheerful hum, "Do Ta Do," DJ always found a way to get things done.

His legacy is one of faith, family, service, and joy. He touched countless lives and leaves behind a history of love, laughter, and unwavering determination.

He leaves to cherish, his loving wife, Crystal Ferguson; his children, Jorden Ferguson, Chantel Griggs, Tristian Hampton, Tracey Thornton- Griggs, Kalissa Knight; his grandchildren, Dallas Jieshen Thornton, Zhia Barrett; his sister, Tamika Neely and brother, Roosevelt Ferguson; brother-in-law, Bruce Thornton (Janet); sister-in-law(s), Charlotte Thornton and Denise Thornton; a host of many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces; many, many close friends; and a "friend in Christ", Phillis Dawn Harvey.
