Ella Grace Martin Dowdle, 90, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Biggers Funeral Chapel. Committal: 3:30 p.m. at Gilliland Cemetery in Gilliland, TX. Visitation: Prior to the service. Grace was born February 4, 1927 in Gilliland, TX and was the youngest of four children. She lived in Gilliland until she married Windel Dowdle on June 6, 1947. They settled in Azle in 1959 on Main Street where they lived and raised their family. She has been a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church since 1959. Grace loved her family so much and gave her family a wonderful blessed life filled with joy and caring. She leaves a beautiful legacy that enriched and impacted the lives of so many people, and now she takes her place in the kingdom of heaven. She was our loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. To know her was to cherish her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years. Survivors: include her children, RuElla Kay Bell and husband, Jerry of Fort Worth; Delvona Atteberry and husband Tom of Tennessee, Windel K. Dowdle, Jr. and wife Dana of Azle and Leah Ann Cree of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother in law, Roy Edwin Dowdle and wife Faye and their son, Wesley; and cousin, Theresa Martin.
