Elmeta Jean Beard Kubis, 67, a retired classroom teacher, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Elmeta was born May 3, 1945, in Decatur and was a lifelong area resident. She loved to crochet and crocheted lap blankets for the Wounded Warrior Program, Soldiers Angel, and Blankets of Hope Program as well as blankets and booties for Cooks Childrens Medical Center, St. Jude Childrens Hospital, and Marine Creek Nursing Home. She is survived by: Daughter, Tammy Price and husband, Rodney, of Weatherford; son, Douglas Ray Hays of Fort Worth; sisters, Lynda Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Patricia Singleton of Elk City, Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Victoria Price and Kirsten Gresham.
