Evelyn "Jeanette" Goodman, of Lake Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born December 9, 1933, in Plainview, Texas, to Florence Nightingale Deweese and Arden Johnston.
A Celebration of Jeanette's Life: Noon, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Lake Worth.
Interment: Azleland Memorial Park following Celebration of Life.
Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Biggers Funeral Home in Lake Worth, Texas 76135.
Jeanette married the love of her life, Gary R. Goodman Sr., and together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, love, and service. They raised two children, Rene and Gary Jr., and were devoted members of the First Baptist Church of Lake Worth, where their faith and community involvement left a lasting impact.
A talented and passionate artist, Jeanette created beautiful landscapes, pet portraits, and animal paintings that reflected her deep appreciation of the world around her. Her artwork continues to bring joy to those who were blessed to receive it.
Jeanette and Gary cherished time with their extended family, especially their nieces, nephews, and especially great nieces and great-nephews. Their home was filled with laughter, creativity, and love—along with Jeanette's occasional look of gentle disapproval that kept everyone on their best behavior.
Jeanette's life was a beautiful example of faith, resilience, creativity, and devotion. She will be remembered for her fierce spirit, her artistic gifts, and her unwavering love for her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary R. Goodman, Sr.; her son, Gary R. Goodman, Jr.; and her sister, Bobbie Sprehe.
She is survived by daughter, Rene Goodman; niece, Kimberly Warfield and husband Tom; nephews, Mark Karpinski and wife, Samantha, Shawn Carpenter and wife, Pammie, and their children; great nephews, Frank Goodman and wife, Danielle, their sons Nathan, Nicholas, and Nolan; great nieces, Miranda Viramontes and Isabelle Warfield.
